    Owner / Veterinarian

    Dr. Dean Anderson grew up in the veterinary field working with his grandfather and uncle at their family practice in Alabama. It was a natural fit for Dean to go to Auburn University completing both his undergraduate degree and veterinary degree there.  With his love of animals, people, and medicine being a veterinarian was his calling. With the recent purchase of Grand Strand Animal Hospital Dr. Anderson is excited about offering excellent medical and surgical care for the pets in and around Myrtle Beach.  Dr. Anderson currently resides in Ocean Isle Beach, NC with his wife Anna Anderson, DVM and their 4 pets, Chloe a Labrador, Lexi a terrier mix, Jetty a Boykin Spaniel, and Izzy, a ragdoll cat.

    Tara has worked in Customer Service for over twenty years.  Grand Strand Animal Hospital is excited to have someone with her experience and passion for animals.  This combination ensures our Clients and Patients get the highest standard of service.  Tara has a chihuahua named Tanner who is spoiled rotten and is one of Grand Strand's favorite patients.

  • Alyssa Branton

    Alyssa is our veterinary assistant.  After working in retail, Alyssa realized she wanted to follow her heart and work with animals.  Alyssa completed the veterinary assistant program at Horry Georgetown Technical College and has been working full time at Grand Strand Animal Hospital ever since.  Alyssa lives in Loris with her two dogs Izzy & Lilly.  Izzy is a 3 year old lab & Lilly is a 10 year old chihuahua
